Mission week 30 (04/29/2024)

2 Churrascos... maybe 3! (BBQ) Whats good yall!? this week was Temple week so we got to visit the Temple and we brought 4 of our recent converts with us! it was awesome... but we also had to wake up at 3:00 in the morning so i was dead haha. at the Temple i received some awesome news! some sisters were here at the temple a week or so ago and they ran into a guy i used to teach! The sisters told me everything that happened. My friend Everson is a guy i taught in my last area, Ala 2. He always had a ton of faith and desire to follow God and he was super nice! I love that guy. but one day he all the sudden said he wanted us to stop teaching him. outta nowhere. He said he had a lot of doubts and did not believe in Joseph Smith and just didn't want any more. I was extremely sad when this happened. He was super close to baptism too! but he asked us to stop teaching, and tried to return the Book Of Mormon that we had given him. I said nah bro you keepin that thing. lol but anyways a few months later he was found at the temple checkin it out with a buddy. He was invited inside to Pray in the guest waiting room with the Sisters. He did this and the Spirit touched him and gave him the desire to be baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ! so they marked the date. Apparently he talks a lot about me and lots of good things to the Sisters and Elders there. asking about me and stuff so that was cool to know I had a decent impact on him to help him. On the day of the baptism i received a message from the AP of our mission that Everson had requested for me to be present, watch or be a part of his Baptism, he said that he really wanted me to be able to take part in it! i asked permission from President Bikman and he said i could do a video call for 15 minutes say hi see it and talk for a sec. I was able to call and say hi and i was super happy to see him. He was happy as well. He kept saying repeatedly "Elder Martin you had a big part in this, Thank you!" ahh i love that guy and i was soo happy he was able to progress to baptism and make covenants with God. Was a super special Baptism and super cool! The spirit was able to work through him and with him when we could not. That is how he showed up to the Temple. That is how he was Baptized. On Sunday there was something a little different. as a ward we walked to everyone's house, grabbed them, and walked to church together! The only thing was that it is not exactly close, so we woke up at 4:30 AM and did it. It was actually pretty fun but when we arrived at the church finally after the long 2 hour walk I was dead. luckily some genius decided to bring food for after so we had cake and other treats and food! Guys Food. Food can solve many problems. tired, eat food. sad, eat food. anything else, Eat food! My Dad likes to say "Good food makes a good time" that is soo true. I love food lol I still have no idea how I never was or am fat. Random stuff of the week. -2 awesome Churrasco's and maybe one more today. I love those. Just season with bigger peices of salt and lime. -had some fire Cuzcuz. - member made us burgers -learned how to play Dominos -traded an Arm and a leg for a Guatemalan tie -Bought Pipa's (kites) and cut down Elder Santos's Pipa 2 times. 2 dubs babyyy! Pipas use 2 types of string, Nylon, and Cerrou. the 2nd one has tiny grains of glass on the string so that it can cut the others down when it rubs against it... and you just direct your pipa in the air to cut everyone's pipa down. -my comp forgot to take care of a pot with rice... the rice was replaced with mold and a million different colors of it. It was nasty. -read both the missionary standards books in one day cuz our president told the whole mission to. Gotta love the White Bible. -gave 3 Priesthood blessings. - Nasty thing i learned, apparently there are a lot of American missionaries who don't take showers. they have been leaving a bad rep lol. that is nasty, Dudes, Elders, and anyone else, PLEASE take your showers daily. I am glad and grateful that my parents loved me and taught me to shower. like bro, just shower. - caught a frog - felt a little sick, crappy, and physically drained of energy mentally out of it so i think i am starting to get sick or something. - discovered one of the very best types of Terrere, (Trots Menta Stronger) - Irmão Juca and his wife came to my Ward to speak! I love those guys! They are from my last area and super amazing people! Good news y'all, we have like 6 or 7 people progressing a lot so we have more of a teaching pool now! This week started off really fast, but slowed down a bit at the end. Hopefully we can keep finding more people, and help the current ones to continue to progress to Baptism! Not a lot of stories this week, it was pretty chill, little slow i was pretty out of it and tired or feeling crappy but we pushin through. Love you all and hope you all have an amazing week! Also P day has been fire so far, Churrasco was amazing, and drinkin terrere, flying my pipa. Perfect P day God is Good! God Is Great! Until next time, Tchau! -Elder Martin https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZYjR28Ehi9siAcjK9
