Lance's Mission, Curitiba Brazil Oct 2023-2025

Mission week 43. (07/29/2024) Guys! I'm a Dad! i have a son now! This last week has been a bit different. With my comp Elder Santos ending his mission everyone was saying their goodbyes and wanting to give dinners and stuff for us to stop by their houses. The work was going slow this last week. me and my comp were working up until the last day of his mission knocking doors and trying to get the last baptism in for him but the two solid dates we had for this week fell sadly. The opposition is really working hard against us. We had a guy confirmed to go to church and be baptized on Friday, super firm and excited. and then the next day he said everything was going wrong for him and his wife who doesn't even live with him and is kinda separated was making him go to Curitiba saturday night to be baptized in another church "Deus de Amor '' sunday. We were there with the DL to do the interview, all set to go, so the DL tried to do some convincing to resolidify the baptism...

Mission  week   42  (07/22/2024) Yoooo! What's up everyone?? This next  week  will be the last  week  of the transfer and the last  week  of the mission for my current comp! so that is crazy , he is actually finishing his mission, that is wild! but let's talk a bit more bout this last  week . It was definitely a strange  week  but it was a good  week . we had a million lessons and sadly 6 baptism dates fell through:( but... we still ended up with 2 baptisms outta nowhere! We were kinda doin mini divisions a lot this  week  with our buddies who happen to be our DL and we managed to throw 2 people in the water! it was hype cuz those people were super excited too! The first guy, Kaun, is a teen about my age and he was pretty quiet and didn't say much. but i started talkin to him about his life, his interests, his work and of course fishing haha. Mission week 41 (07/15/2024) Yoooo! This week has officially been one of the longest feeling weeks I have had haha. This last pday feels like it happened 3 weeks ago and that is no joke. Last Pday was amazing. and just because of the dinner. we went to this restaurant called "Alexandria Burger", and it is basically the best restaurant i have ever been to on my entire mission! it had a deal that for 69 Brazilian Real ($12 or $13 american dollars) you can have an all you can eat buffet! they had a million options for burgers and more. i ended up eating 12 Burgers, fries with bacon and cheddar, fried chicken, pizza, 3 cups of ice cream, and a bottle 'o coke. it was a glorious meal, it was amazing, and i love food so i really loved this, and i ate a lot... i really did enjoy it... but it sure did hurt after haha. Mission week 40 (07/07/2024) Happy birthday America, happy 4Th, and happy birthday to my bro! Yoo, we hit 9 months, marked a million bap dates, met tons of people and found a bunch to teach. was a super solid week but no one showed up to church lol. Started the week out with Futebol on Pday which was litt, but I hurt my ankle pretty bad... went home hurting and woke up the next day and couldn't walk on it or put any pressure on it. i was a bit worried about the days work so of course i said a quick prayer and it still hurt up to the moment we walked out the door and then it was completely fine somehow walking out onto the street with no pain. cool little miracle, cuz i thought i might’ve messed up my ankle like i had about a year ago on the same ankle. but all is good now! Gods helpin us out here! Mission week 39 (07/01/2024) What's up y'all, it has been a "Frosty" week here in Brazil!  Last p day was litttt We had a Churrasco and then went fishing and i love fishing!!! we all caught fish but of course i caught the most... not that it was a competition but prolly a pride thing. but I caught 4 big ol Bagre (catfish) and 8 other little fish, 12 in total. fried one of the fish up, ate it, then went home and ate a massive pizza, and the other elders slept over. to say the least it was one of those really good P-days. Guys... I have some bad news... I am getting a little fat. I have never been fat in my life so it is weird and it is all cuz i really love food. The problem is I used to eat a lot of food and workout a ton. now i eat lots of food and don't hardly work out at all..... ope.  The funny thing is though during the week I had a day I just got really mad at myself, seeing the fat, feeling tired, feeling like i had lost my discipline.
