Mission Week 56 (10/28/2024)

First Attempted Armed Robbery! 


Guys I want you all to note that I am now training and it was the very first week of the new guy, my comp. and it has been an exciting wild first week on the mission for him, hahahaha. (Also lots of things happened... so it's a long one this week) 

 Alrightyyy! My new comp that I am training is awesome!!! Elder Eastin is a Dawg! I picked him up Monday and found out that we must have crossed paths a few times before the Mission because he is from Kamas Utah!!! Right where my cabin is at! So he lives there, knows all the trails, lakes, and much more! We have gone to the same ward up there too! So he of course loves Fishing, Hunting, Hiking, Dirt Biking and stuff like that so we get along pretty well and easily. It's been a pretty normal good start of the week and found great people, taught great people. Had great Experiences. Here are the random notes of the week:

 - Thiago owns a super good bakery and so when he met the new Elder he gave us a bunch of cookies and sweets! It was awesome!

 - We got a Reference and so headed to it, turned out that the address was some other church... "Igreja Messiânica Mundial do Brasil" so that was the name and apparently someone said it is like one of the Pope's sacred places or sumthin like that. But I was goin, lookin for this person so I walked in to the front desk and asked the lady working there if she knew anyone by "the name of the person" she didn't know so she called one of the leaders of the church over, he didn't know, so he called the big boss of the place who was in charge of it all and the entire building there. so I said what's up, introduced myself and then asked him. Everyone was looking at us pretty funny the whole time thinking "what are those mormons doing in here?" hahahaha but when nobody and even the boss guy didn't know the name I just invited them all to make a visit to the Church Of Jesus Christ! hahahaha it was awesome!

 - We ran to a member's house super quick at the end of the night to get our temple names printed and he had a surprise churrasco for us there!! It was awesome!!!! I love Churrascos! And the first one for the new guy. 

- Templeeeee! I love the temple trips.

 - Division with the ZL's, contacted like madmen, hit around 100 contacts. 

- ward auction, I bought a coin with a dope pic of the sons of Mosiah on it.

 - and this week has been cool teaching Portugues. 


Alrighty, now we can talk about literally THE CRAZIEST DAY YET ON THE MISH!! Not kidding! 
Here are the notes from that day in particular:

 - out of nowhere my comp found a vape under his bed, (turns out it was from a recent convert that was being helped in the past so don't worry!) 
- Zoom meeting for all the newbies 
- Cleaned the Church
 - A random guy came up to us speaking English and showed us some wild fruit trees on the side of the road.
 - Saw a BMW E30 which was dope.
 - Had a member lunch which was dope!!! also really rare these days.
 - Saw Ddracula walking the streets...
 - Some guy drove by in his car and yelled out the window "God's False!" so ya that was strange and random.
 - A power line fell by us on the road becuase a tall semi-truck hit it.
 - A crazy lady tried to Bible bash us and poison us with grape juice not wanting to let us leave but we ended up just standing up and leaving cuz the spirit was just not in her home so we ran out.
- Taught Irma Julya, the miracle email person that came to church with a cake, and i marked a solid Baptismal date with her for the 17th of November. we had to mark it super far out cuz unfortunately she is getting a surgery and will only be able to be baptized 15 days after. but she is super excited and firm, and it was the first date we marked with the newbie Elder!
 - A lady at the market thought we worked there and was asking us stuff

Guy Following Us 


 - Then we left the market to take stuff home that night and we crossed the railroad tracks and noticed a guy following us, he called out to talk to us so we stopped. Then he came over and started asking for money. I told him, "Look bro we are just missionaries we dont got money, we just used it for this food" (the bags of market food). Then he said "look man i am armed" showing us his waistband that he was armed, " I don't want anybody to get hurt, just give me your money." Once again I said "sorry bro i dont got nothin." But I tried offering him a bag of the food we had lol.

 He wasn't satisfied so then I just said, "Hey Brother, you know that God loves you? He does! and he wants you to be happy! We are representitives of Jesus Christ and we are here to help all come unto him. God is calling you right now to come back to him. He wants you to receive this happiness and salvation." 

Then I continued to say, "Look Brother, I do have one thing, one thing that truly is more valuable than anything else and more than money." this got him interested, and he asked "well then what is it??" I responded telling him, "this right here is something that will help you have eternal joy and happiness, it is a guide to salvation! " and slowly I opened my bag to pull it out.

 The guy was a little tense about what I was bouta grab outta my bag and his hands curled into fists. My comp noting this did the same trying to be ready. The guy saw it and asked, "Hey bro, you want to hit me huh?!" super aggressively, I told the guy that he doesn't understand Portuguese or anything so chill out he is fine and doesn't want to hit you. 

Then I continued, and grabbed the Book of Mormon. I said, "This right here is Another Testament Of Jesus Christ, and truly is a guide to happiness and your personal salvation." And I continued saying, "God your Eternal Father and Jesus Christ want you to have this, they want you to return to them. this is your guide." and I ended with an invite to church and then by saying, "Thank you for your time tonight Brother, you have a great night, Tchau." and I grabbed his hand and shook it, turned and walked away. 
The dude was soo confused hahahaha he was like oh ya good night, and then "Wait! Do you have a phone!?" but we just ignored him and kept walking. We ended up taking another route and didn't go home, we went to a store and then called for a ride to get home.

The store we stopped in for safety happened to be a pharmacy and I was making the call not really paying attention, after the phone call I looked around and it turns out I was in the women's section and was staring off "into space" but looked like I was really interested in buying tampons or something lol so I got outa that section quick. 

Then after arriving home we thought it all was over, but no! There was a freaking massive Brown Spider on the wall! This type of spider is super dangerous and if it bites you you usually lose that limb. So I just captured it and now it is a little pet on my desk lol.

- Also one more crazy thing happened, but this was a Good crazy. One of my best friends back at Home Zach just got married!!!! CONGRATS BRO!!!! So ya, all that wild stuff happened in one day, and the first week for the newbie was nuts lol. but overall was a super good week, just a bit interesting, but we are all good and safe so don't worry mom! God has been watching over us and keeping us safe. Love y'all and until next week....Tchau!!!

Mission week 50

Mission week 50. (09/16/2024) First week here in Ahú Curitiba!  My new Comp here "Elder Siebra" is litt! it is funny cuz i knew him already from a bit earlier on in the mish, but this was during the time when i was a bit annoying lol, but we are super chill now. We are like two buddies just doin God's work and so it is super fun! We both really like music too so it is a good way to connect. He knows a lot and actually studied music before the mission. He also knows how to Play the guitar! which is littt and we both play the guitar and he is teaching me how to do and play a few things! I love music, it is super powerful and... is also something that we can share with other people. We had a cool family night with an awesome member family! they planned it and said our part was just to say the prayers, and give a special musical number... (nobody knows yet that we like music and stuff so it was a surprise) So my comp played the Guitar and I sang "Amazing Grace." It ...

Mission Week 8

HAPPY THANKSGIVING Y'ALL! Wow it has been a  week , felt like a month haha. We have done soo many different things and talked to hundreds of different people.  Now I have been in my Official area for a  week  in Ala 2. First day here i met this super cool dude, He is a member and his name is Thiago. I am convinced that he is one of the 3 Nephites. This man is awesome. He speaks perfect english and even has lived in Utah a little bit. He has recently become super involved and pretty much always trying to do everything he can do to help the missionaries and participate in the work. He regrets not going on a  mission  so he is basicaly serving unofficialy alongside us working as a member. He will always show up in neihborhoods we usually walk through and ask where we are so he he can help. He even took it a step further and rented a car for 2 days and took us to the far corners of our area to try to talk to people there becuase it is an hour or so walking time...
