Lance's Mission, Curitiba Brazil Oct 2023-2025

Mission week 50. (09/16/2024) First week here in Ahú Curitiba!  My new Comp here "Elder Siebra" is litt! it is funny cuz i knew him already from a bit earlier on in the mish, but this was during the time when i was a bit annoying lol, but we are super chill now. We are like two buddies just doin God's work and so it is super fun! We both really like music too so it is a good way to connect. He knows a lot and actually studied music before the mission. He also knows how to Play the guitar! which is littt and we both play the guitar and he is teaching me how to do and play a few things! I love music, it is super powerful and... is also something that we can share with other people. We had a cool family night with an awesome member family! they planned it and said our part was just to say the prayers, and give a special musical number... Mission week 49. (09/09/2024) Transfers!!!! Heyyyyy Guyssssss!! what's goin on!!!? it has been a crazy week full greatness! we started it off last week by going to the Big Hamburgaria that is called Alexandria. All you can eat burgers, pizza, chicken, fries, ice cream, and more! I definitely ate too much and it hurt but was still awesome! Crazy news!! I was visiting an Irma in our ward and received a call from President. remembering about transfers my heart dropped. I thought there was no possibility of me being transferred and was not prepared at all. I answered the phone and President said "Elder  Martin , you have been there for 6 months already, now you will be transferred to area: Ahu in Curitiba, and work with Elder Siebra!" he continued to say, "i need you to help bring more energy there" I was caught soo off guard and unprepared. i truly had been there for 6 months but i was happy and wanted to stay, the work in that area was incredible. Mission week 48 (09/02/2024) This week has been a bit different. We had a crazy division that was awesome, but also some sad news in our ward. i had an epic division and i got to go to the Bonsuccesso area! I went there working with Elder Matamoros and tore up the turf there! we found, tons of people and marked 8 baptismal dates! That is more than i think i have ever done in a day before, so a new record for me! i was super hyped really seeing how the people are ready and we just gotta find them and invite them! The sad news in our ward was first the death of an elderly man that we had sung to last week. and then the death of a family of 4 and a boyfriend with them due to a car crash. They were good members of the ward and really good friends and close to everybody. I actually knew them pretty well too. Mission week 47. (08/26/2024) Chaaammaaaaaaa meu povo! This week was a banger!!! I have been grinding my butt off working and it has been awesome! Little side note... don't worry bout the venting in the last letter, I am all good and just threw it off my chest to move forward and hop on the grind. This week I was able to throw down some mental walls or barriers I had because of being in an area for soo long. i have been in this area for about or 6 months and sometimes it feels like i have already talked to most people, even though i know there are more and so the wall is that mentally i feel like "oh i already tried that door, or that person" but i did a did receive a miracle wrecking ball that crushed these walls! I had a litt division with my DL and we went to his area to let my trainee be a senior and work in our area for a day. i was soo hyped cuz my DL Elder Ortiz is litttt! Mission week 46. (08/19/2024) Opening weekend of the archery Elk and Deer Hunt in Utah!!! That's like a big holiday! This week has had a lot of ups and downs, including goin to Curitiba to start it off, got burned by President, marked dates, dates fell and all that fun stuff, got sick and felt like a truck hit me, but I hit the road anyways. random stuff this week: -Burned by President -I hit the Gym for the first time on the mish cuz we had a private gym in the secretaries apartment, so i was hyped about that, of course i maxed out all the machines... i had to... maybe a pride thing... but it felt good haha. -Division with AP's Elder Lizana -marked lots of dates and lots of dates fell. lots of super flakey moley people. -I got sick the last 3 days and felt like a truck hit me, body aches, crazy headaches, throat hurting, couldn't think or focus. (08/12/2024) This week has been epic! We started out with fishing and a division with the ZL's and I got to work with my buddy Elder Amerall which was hype! This week I have given the Restoration Lesson many times, super powerfully. testifying that this is the Only church with Gods power, Prophets, and Apostles. super strong spiritual moments. i was bouta invite someone to Baptism and then their brother showed up who likes to bible bash cuz he's a critic. he said that he had many doubts, and tried many churches already. he said that he would join a church when Jesus tells him that this is the church he needs to serve in. I looked at him dead in the eyes, and said.  " That is really good that you want to truly serve the Church he tells you is his. but you need to be careful. because you are right now trusting more in your own knowledge and less trust in God. with you criticizing, you are relying on your understanding and you need to trust in God."
