Mission week 35 (06/03/2024)

I am going to kill my comp this next transfer. We had Interviews with President and it was litt! been a good week, lockin down more to hit a goal President expects us to meet. Also! I hit 9 months on the mish yesterday!! the day before we ordered the massive burgers and they were huge!!! quite possibly the Best burger i have had in my life. Last week fishing was a huge success!! I Love Fishing. We went fishing in the cold rain at night and I caught 5 fish! I caught 2 big Tilapia and 3 other smaller Pacu. My comp was struggling to catch a fish but I really wanted him to get one too. eventually he asked me to just prepare his line with my magic fingers cuz the fish like me i guess. So I prepped his line and hook, said a little prayer and kissed the hook lol. Then we sent it out and the next thing we know is that the rod broke through the tape it was resting on and was almost yanked right into the water. Elder Santos grabbed the rod and started reeling and ended up fighting this massive beast of a fish for 2 and a half minutes!! he caught a monster! Bagre or catfish in english. Then we fried up my Tilapia whole and ate it with a little lemon. It was soo freakin good! I loved that! Really good solid P-day, reeling in fish while talking to my parents on the phone haha. This week we found tons of people! following the Spirit where to go and work and then doing it. found lots of people, and visited recent converts. we gotta gather and keep the sheep of the Lord. When we keep his sheep well he will bless us with more sheep to gather. so we are focusing on keeping the Lord's sheep we already have. Our capability, or ability and our faith. we must always have a Gap between our Capability to do things and our level of faith. to always have more faith than we have capability. to grow them both. not just one or the other but both. and keep the gap to always have more faith than you have capability. you can do all things with faith because that is trusting in God. trust in God more than trusting in the flesh or in man. Our Meetings with President were awesome! He interviewed my comp first and asked him if he wanted to stay here with me or go somewhere, he said "deixe me mais um com Robozinho." president was surprised sayin "huh?" "Robs, Elder Martin haha". they always have funny nicknames but President was caught off guard so it was funny. so i get to stay here and that's litt cuz my comp is actually pretty dope and we get along really well. and i'll learn more Portuguese and how to teach better even cuz he is a pro baptizer. But i am gonna kill him cuz he is dying... finishing his mission, lol In my interview President told me i need to stop thinking soo much, lol. I agreed wholeheartedly. and then he said he expects 30 baptisms from now until the end of the next transfer! he said it with conviction, confidence, and certainly that we would too! so i will do my best to do what he has asked us to do. all things are possible with God! but he said we have all the talent, potential, ability and everything to do that. he was talking about my comp and said he is the best in the whole mission, he just has to focus. he wants us to show the mission that it is possible. He has a lot of confidence and hope in us. because when we walked out he announced it to everyone there and all the other missionaries that we are going to baptize 30! lol. They all looked at us like we were crazy. But President has full hope and faith in us. 30 is a lot. but i'll do my best and trust in God. I am still trying to learn how to do everything so I am trusting in the Lod and a bit on my comp cuz he knows how to Bap a ton of people, and President knows that and likes it. and here is the thing. it is not just about numbers. It is about people, souls and their eternal good. to help them prepare and make the first step to choose to follow Christ. and we are gonna strive to bring 30 people unto Christ. it won't be easy, but it is possible, only through God. so now we have been grinding like crazy. random stuff of the week... -it got down to 3 degrees. That was cold. imagine showering and in the stall there is a window to the outside jammed open that can't be shut and it is 3 degrees outside therefore the same temperature in there and the rest of the house. cold air constantly flowing in. Cold! haha -I found out why Brazilian missionaries don't like the Aremicans lol. my comp told me this one. it is cuz "The Americans are always super strict on rules and rat people out even for small things and are just super annoying. but that's not the bad part. the bad part is that they are fake, and they break the rules and pretend to be perfect and follow everything." So basically hypocrisy. welp. Americans yall gotta be more real lol. don't be lying. luckily my comp said this and said "but there are very few American Elders that we like. you are one of them because you are chill and like to have fun." haha. lets goooo i am not hated haha. I always try to be real and just say anything and everything so I guess people like that. I do talk to President if there are problems with people but I guess I do it in a chill lowkey way and not frequently. but it felt good to hear that, and i am doing something right for people to like me. i think Brasilians like me too cuz i really do like the culture here and i try to immerse a little bit into it and try doing all the things here, like Futebol, Mate (Chimarao and Terrere), Pipas, random foods, learning phrases or slangs, and other stuff. I am trying my best haha. I was told i look like Buz lightyear -The AP's slept over here again, the problem was that we didn't get to bed till 1:00 in the morning... I was already tired but after that I was dying the rest of the week. but it was still fun with them, i just conked out while they were talking. -We grinded, found tons of people, also had some of the people that we were already teaching get cut or asked to stop teaching which was sad. but we are still finding more. i don't know how exactly we are gonna hit the 30 yet but i am just gonna keep going, grinding in hope and faith. Love y'all! Keep to the covenant path and you will find Joy! A higher Joy, in Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer! God is Good! God is Great! https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZYjR28Ehi9siAcjK9 I was misinformed by someone lol and trusted them I hit 8 months not 9 😂
