Mission week 39 (07/01/2024)

What's up y'all, it has been a "Frosty" week here in Brazil! 

Last p day was litttt We had a Churrasco and then went fishing and i love fishing!!! we all caught fish but of course i caught the most... not that it was a competition but prolly a pride thing. but I caught 4 big ol Bagre (catfish) and 8 other little fish, 12 in total. fried one of the fish up, ate it, then went home and ate a massive pizza, and the other elders slept over. to say the least it was one of those really good P-days.

Guys... I have some bad news... I am getting a little fat. I have never been fat in my life so it is weird and it is all cuz i really love food. The problem is I used to eat a lot of food and workout a ton. now i eat lots of food and don't hardly work out at all..... ope. 

The funny thing is though during the week I had a day I just got really mad at myself, seeing the fat, feeling tired, feeling like i had lost my discipline. That fact pissed me off. I love discipline! i feel that that is one of the most important qualities to have and lookin in the mirror i just felt i was losing that quality getting fat. so that ticked me off a bit haha. but i channeled it all and just rage cleaned our whole house trying to use discipline or exercise discipline in some way cuz i can't truly workout or get a real gym workout in on the mish.

Then my comp who was a pro soccer player before the mish told me to chill out and i am not losing any discipline, it's just the mish lol. welp. When I used to try to do workouts on the mish I only had time for a few pushups not much more but, all the guys who were big before the mish get skinnier and smaller and add a little belly and fat on the mish. basically i just gotta chill haha.

Random stuff of he week:

-freakin cold. Had frost, literally frost on the grass in Brasil.

-told people to quit breaking the law of chastity and sleep in separate beds or get married.

-People keep talking about me possibly training. ngl i don't know, i'll do whatever the Lord needs me to do but i just wanna baptize a bunch.

-I learned how to make Pudin, a Brazilian dish super good.

-Ate a bunch of pinhão and they were actually super good this time!

-Gave a lady a blessing

-ate some raw meat...

- Some guy said i look like an important guy or movie actor and my comp is my bodyguard 

- the youth here just found a ton of "look alike" movie characters, including Thor, Captain America, some dude from supernatural, buzz lightyear, and a bunch of others haha. i love the nicknames but... imma have to hit the gym grind HARD to look like that haha.

- I gave a talk in church. I'll throw it in here.

- Had some super successful family nights and lessons with members the the investigators loved. Super great moments

We have had 2 or so weeks without baptizing someone, I really want to be able to baptize weekly. I am trying to learn and do and get it all down cuz right now my purpose is literally this. to help them receive the guidance, and the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and knowledge of the Gospel and Church Of Jesus Crist. and i wanna help as many people as i can to have that. and the way to do that is baptizing a bunch. so lets goooo imma go get it!

Yall dont have to read this if u dont want to but here is my talk and the Pudin recipe i wrote.

Pudin

•■•Part #1:

●Sugar; Açúcar: 2 cups

-in a pot

-caramelize on the stove

●Hot Water; Agua Quente: 1 cup

-in the pot of carmelized sugar, be careful

- Put in the pudin pan

- Let cool a little

●■Pre-heat oven: 170-180 Celcuis■●

●Condensed Milk; Leite Condensado: 2 boxes

●Eggs; Ovos: 8

-Seperate the yellow yoke from the whites in Bowls. Only use yokes.

-Use a strainer/filter to put the yoke and purify it kinda into the bowl of condensed milk

●milk; leite: 1/2 Liter

-mix into the bowl of condensed milk

- Carefully pour gently the mixture of condensed milk into the pudin pan. Try to not mix much with the carmelized mixture.

- Place aluminum foil on top.

- Secure it and tie it with dentel floss string.

-Use a larger pan and place hot water in it. 

Hot water is to be quicker.

-Place the covered pudin pan in the pan of hot water.

-Put in the oven and cook for at least 1 hour and 10 minutes. More or less.... and take out when it is a bit more firm

-After, pull it out and place it in the fridge to cool down

-When it is cold pull off the aluminum and turn upsidown onto a dish to serve, and enjoy!

Talk on Integrity 

Bom dia irmãos e irmãs!

Sou o Élder Martin, de Layton Utah, Estados Unidos. e hoje tenho o privilégio de falar com vocês sobre Atributes de Cristo. Um na verdade.

Mas primeiramente vou começar com este pequeno exemplo

Muitas pessoas gostam de jogar videogame. E geralmente quando você joga um videogame você controla um personagem ou Avatar para fazer o que você deseja. Você controla isso completamente. Às vezes, você pode até alterar, modificar e escolher a aparência do seu Avatar, o que ele pode fazer, quais habilidades ele terá e muito mais!

 Se eu tivesse um Avatar, com certeza o tornaria super forte e ficaria enorme. Haha.

 Como você faria seu Avatar?

 Agora imagine isso, ou pense sobre isso. A todos vocês individualmente foi dada esta vida, esta oportunidade de literalmente construir seu próprio Avatar pessoal! É você! Sua vida e sua mente, seu espírito e seu corpo. Deus te deu tudo isso. Para esta vida, crie seu avatar e aprenda.

 Agora pergunte-se novamente: como você faria seu Avatar?

 Você gostaria que fosse forte? Você gostaria que fosse bem informado? Você gostaria que fosse inteligente? Você gostaria que fosse saudável?

 Eu sei que gostaria de sempre melhorar e tornar meu Avatar melhor! De todas as maneiras!

 Mas, a única coisa que eu gostaria de focar é: eu gostaria que meu Avatar fosse como Jesus Cristo.

 Jesus é e foi o exemplo perfeito. Seus atributos são aquilo em que eu me esforçaria para me tornar melhor e para me tornar mais parecido com ele.

 Agora pergunte-se novamente: como você faria seu Avatar?

 Esta vida é a sua vida. Este Avatar é seu para criar com sua livre agência e escolhas. Então vá, cresça e tente se tornar a melhor versão possível de si mesmo. Vá e tente se tornar como Jesus. Jesus era perfeito. Portanto, ele é exatamente quem devemos nos esforçar para nos tornarmos e seguir seus passos.

 Mas, hoje tenho o privilégio de falar com vocês sobre uma determinada palavra. um atributo de Cristo em specifico. Essa palavra é Integridade.

Quero que todos vocês pensem por si mesmos por um momento. O que é integridade e o que isso significa para você pessoalmente?

No guia para estudo das escrituras, os sinônimos de integridade são retidão, honestidade e sinceridade.

O Presidente Spencer W. Kimball ensinou: “Integridade” é nossa “disposição e capacidade de viver de acordo com nossas crenças e compromissos”.

Para mim, integridade significa ser fiel a Deus, a si mesmo e aos outros. E realmente fazer as coisas que eu digo que farei e ter minhas ações consistentes com minhas palavras.

por exemplo... Se eu disser para minha mãe que vou lavar os pratos, ou limpar meu quarto antes de sair com meus amigos... então eu vou! E eu lavo os pratos ou limpo meu quarto.

Integridade gera confiança. Imagine isso! Quando você faz o que diz que vai fazer, as pessoas confiam em você! Quando você é honesto e sincero, as pessoas confiam em você.

O Élder Jack N. Gerard ensinou.

“Agir com integridade aumenta a fé e a confiança e assegura aos outros que procuramos apenas fazer a vontade do Senhor.”

Jesus Cristo foi e é o exemplo perfeito de Integridade. Ele permaneceu fiel a Deus, fazendo a vontade do Pai perfeitamente durante sua vida aqui na Terra, tomando sobre ele a taca amarga, levando os pecados e as aflições do mundo, depois morrendo e sendo ressuscitado para cumprir a Expiação e a vontade de Deus perfeitamente. Ele não recuou. com sua integridade ele permaneceu sempre fiel a Deus e completou o que ele e os profetas haviam profetizado que ele faria.

Neste momento no mundo, para mim e para vocês, para ter integridade e permanecer fiel a Deus, Sua igreja, sua doutrina e princípios é mais importante do que nunca.

O Presidente Russell M. Nelson aconselhou: “[Vencer o mundo] significa vencer a tentação de nos preocuparmos mais com as coisas deste mundo do que com as coisas de Deus. Significa confiar mais na doutrina de Cristo do que nas filosofias dos homens.” Da mesma forma, devemos resistir à tentação de andar “no [nosso] caminho e segundo a imagem do [nosso] próprio deus, cuja imagem é a semelhança do mundo”.

À medida que os caminhos do mundo e os caminhos de Deus estão se desintegrando cada vez mais a cada dia, devemos escolher ativamente segui-lo, o caminho de Deus e o exemplo de seu filho Jesus Cristo.

outro fator para pensar. Os Dois Grandes Mandamentos trabalham de mãos dadas com a nossa Integridade. todos os mandamentos servem, mas especialmente amar a Deus e amar as pessoas ao nosso redor.

Porque você ama a Deus, você deve e será fiel a ele em todos os momentos.

Para não mentir e ser fiel aos outros, você está demonstrando seu amor por eles e por Deus.

Continue em sua vida fazendo o que é certo, verdadeiro e honesto. E deixe as consequências seguirem. Você observará como seguir este atributo cristão de integridade abençoará sua vida e você será uma bênção na vida de outras pessoas.

Jesus é o exemplo perfeito. Como seguidores de Cristo, devemos nos esforçar para nos tornarmos melhores a cada dia. para se tornar mais parecido com ele a cada dia. isso não acontecerá de uma vez. mas buscando, estudando em espírito de oração e agindo podemos nos tornar mais semelhantes ao nosso salvador Jesus Cristo. Aqui um pouco, ali um pouco. linha sobre linha, preceito sobre preceito. crescendo um pouco a cada dia, podemos nos tornar 1% mais parecidos com nosso exemplo perfeito, Jesus Cristo.
