Mission Week 27 and hit 6 months!
(04/08/24)
Happy People day yall! It's been another great week here in Brasil! Not gonna lie this Pday snuck up on me. This week has been Superb! Temple, Zone Conference, Baptisms, and General Conference! and... a Rooster that lives in our yard we share with a member, even before our 6:30 alarm that darn chicken is goin off. imma grab that thing and end up with some chicken stroganoff haha.
Alrighty i have retired my first pair of shoes, my black shoes were destroyed! the material was breaking apart on the outside and the inside and well. Soo i bought a pair of boots and they are super nice! hopefully they last a while....
I also got some cheap shooting shoes for futebol. We have played only a few times but i am learning to play quickly! I am not that great but my comp said I have improved a ton with just playing 3 times! Everyone loves to call me Gringo here too, it's pretty funny cuz it is expected for me to play bad, but when i score or megged someone they all go crazy hahaha.
Yooooooo! I hit 6 months on the mish! it hasnt really felt that long, but it also feels like this is all i have ever done haha, like this is normal life to me now. We had pizza at our recent converts house after marking a Bap date with someone which was fire!
Temple! We woke up at 3:30 to get ready and on a bus that would take us to Curitiba. It is a 2 hour bus ride. The sunrise was beautiful!
President Bikman is a funny guy, and also a smart guy. His boss told him that we will be limited to only one temple visit per transfer here in Ponta Grossa because of the distance. but my President loves the temple and knows the importance of it, so he will be Obedient and only have the one temple trip.... and will also have a Zone Conference and it will be in Curitiba, and to prep for the conference we go to the temple because we are already in Curitiba. Gotta love that! hahaha, i am happy we get to continue going to the temple at least twice, it is a blessing to have our temple in Curitiba and we are Utilizing it.
I also missed Breakfast lunch and dinner that day... I had a snack and that was it. That was fun lol.
General Conference! I love it! It was an awesome day! We ran around to a million houses sharing the links for people to listen to the words of our Prophets, and we grabbed a bunch of people and shipped them off to the church to watch. We also had 2 Baptisms during the break between sessions! It was awesome! Ana and Agatha were both baptized!
Random stuff
-Met this huge Bodybuilder guy who made me look like a stick lol, he was massive! but he wants the Gospel in his life so we can help him with that! but i asked him how he did it and he said Tren, Diabol, and listed out a bunch of other steroids. my man was juicin! lol
-last month our mission set a new record in the time of our President with baptisms. 158 Baptisms!
-Apparently my President on his mission had over 1,300 or so baptisms alone. That is wild!
-Fences here in Brasil are a little bit different than in the States. The average you will see is super tall, has multiple sharp spears on top, has these curled razor blade stretches across the top, is also lined with 3 strings of barbed wire on top of that, and at the very top it has 3 electrical lines. But to cap it all off there is this Bush at the base of the fence that is just pure thorns. so here you don't climb over fences unless you can fly really high lol.
-met this guy who made a sword, and had another sword and machete, it was litt!
-I have a friend, a sister missionary who iss from Honduras and she can testify that the dogs here are a little more wild and dangerous than there haha, so my friends serving in Honduras... your dogs are nothing compared to Brasil hahaha.
-I had "The Best Açai" It 100% was (excuse the pun) "The Best"
- A Pipa fell out of the sky and onto our heads, no one came to retrieve it so it was a blessing out of the sky, a new kitee that we will be flying.
- My mini basketball hacky sack is now sadly permanently on the roof of the chapel.
- There is a growing number of snakes here, getting dangerous lol jkjk but me and my comp gotta stick together like glue and bring another guy, normally our recent convert to those houses to teach. The problem is you don't know if they actually want to be baptized or if they are just wanting your attention. we just need the simple answer if they want to follow Jesus, then water. but they need to have the other lessons and understanding too.
- Sister Bikman gave everyone that little Snap fireworks that you throw at the ground and it pops. She wanted to help with the problem of the dogs. We have quite a few wild street dogs here that really want to eat missionaries, we tested those snap things and they don't work for crap. so imma have to use my boot and rocks and umbrella to keep them from tearing my flesh apart haha.
- My area is massive, like huge!!! I checked the numbers on the map, across it is 105Km and would take a full day prolly 24 hours to walk it hahaha. It has like 4 or 5 other untouched cities in it but they dont have chapels so that is difficult. But crazy big.
Go to the temple yall!
God is Good! God is Great!
Until next time
