Mission Week 44
Mission week 44 (08/05/2024)
10 Months!!!
Alrighty yall, I'm back. We survived the first week training. The new guy Elder Benjamim got here! Funny thing is he is from Recife like my old comp which is dope. It has actually been a good week tho! went super well!
When he first got here to the house he sat down and looked around... then wanted to deep clean the house soo took everything outside and deep cleaned the whole house. but ngl needed it. We have normally just sweep it and mop occasionally, clean the kitchen and bathroom. but he went all out. i just get to enjoy the props of having another clean comp which is dope. My comp is a pretty cool guy. Here are a few things about him; He prepped a lot before the mission so he already knows all the lessons, and scriptures... makes my job easy lol, he teaches well and has a unique gift to really follow the spirit, he is good with people and conversing maybe that is a Recife thing, he has that beginner fire, excitement and energy to work which is super awesome so we work hard, he is dying of cold cuz where he is from it is only hot, he is super rigid and kinda robotic on the rules and obedience which is good but ya know rigid and robotic i don't like, but obedience is good so i'll take it, the only other downsider is that he has a fear of numbers and kinda a fear of baptizing a bunch, i'll try to teach to help him learn that literally everyone needs to be baptized to receive the blessings of God and return to him, we will work on that. But I basically just have to teach him the mission life, help him when he is missing his family or wanting to go home to stay firm and persevere and endure till the end, and teach to love baptizing.
We have been walking a lot this week. NGL i don't know how my other comp always called uber haha i dont got money for that so we are doin a tonnn of walking. but this week we have found some great people! some people to pray for to continue progressing to baptism:
-Rodrigo and Erica
-Guilherme
-Djama and family
-Emerson and family
-the other great people we have yet to find.
We have seen many miracles this week. Some were finding people, marking dates, or giving Priesthood blessings. i gave more blessings yesterday than i think i have given in a day so far. The spirit was super strong this week. And I'm helping strengthen my comp to stick it out and stay on the mission.
Random things of the week:
-I got to smash a pie in my son's face on day 2.
-bought coconuts to drink and ate the flesh inside, was super good.
-finally got the spiderman pendant necklace thing that is super dope.
-Dinner with bishop for the newbie to meet him, started really good ended a little bad. Our bishop likes baptisms which is really good, he will always work with us. He was liking the new guy up until the last moment. i asked bishop if there was anything we could do to help, he joked "just keep baptizing and hit the ward goal of 30 baptisms for the year" then my comp started going off about how he doesnt like numbers on baptisms and only wants to baptize with more than 3 times at church and if they are super ready almost like an apostle. the bishop's face fell when he heard this. We are supposed to baptize when people have a desire and want to follow Jesus and the commandments, they need faith and need to repent and can be baptized. so sadly the start off with bishop kinda fell. but bishop just looked at him said "look, i am not saying that you are wrong, but whenever you come to me with a baptism, i will say yes, baptize." our bishop is super good here, i hope we can continue helping strengthen the ward and baptize a bunch. i'll do my best to teach my comp to love baptism, and understand what it really is.
-Visited lots of references and found tons of people! Marking the 3 baptism dates were some of those miracles! We also ran into lots of people on the road who might progress as well.
-I hit 10 months on the mission! My comp hit 1 month.
-7 investigators at church lets gooo
-Members said I am the most Brasilian American that they know, so lets goooo I have been accepted! I Mission week 44 (08/05/2024)

So ya it's been a good week, my comp is pretty good and I am training him in all the goods. He just needs to relax a bit, not be a rigid robot and learn to like baptisms.
God is Good yall! He really is Great!
Until next week... Tchau!
