Mission week 50

Mission week 50. (09/16/2024)

First week here in Ahú Curitiba!

My new Comp here "Elder Siebra" is litt! it is funny cuz i knew him already from a bit earlier on in the mish, but this was during the time when i was a bit annoying lol, but we are super chill now. We are like two buddies just doin God's work and so it is super fun!
We both really like music too so it is a good way to connect. He knows a lot and actually studied music before the mission. He also knows how to Play the guitar! which is littt and we both play the guitar and he is teaching me how to do and play a few things!

I love music, it is super powerful and... is also something that we can share with other people. We had a cool family night with an awesome member family! they planned it and said our part was just to say the prayers, and give a special musical number... (nobody knows yet that we like music and stuff so it was a surprise) So my comp played the Guitar and I sang "Amazing Grace." It was super cool and we felt the spirit strong at that family night.

We have been grinding and working really hard here but this area is really rich and a bit more difficult to find humble people ready to accept the Gospel. We have been goin, workin until we fall in our beds feeling like every muscle and bone has something broken haha. We marked 2 dates and have one other person progressing. but the frustrating part is the difficulty in finding new people to teach, in reality we found 1 new person to teach and progress this week. But I have faith and know that it doesn't matter where I am, God has people ready and is preparing more People and we just gotta find them and gather them.

It really has been a tiring week, but at the same time it was fun. Had a litt division with the Zone Leaders, i went with Elder Pincay! He is a funny Guy loves to joke around a lot but works at the same time so it was a super fun division! made a million contacts, funny people, good people, crazy people, some guy with litteral horns on his head in his skin and eyes tattooed black, (was super creepy) and much more.

Random stuff of the week:
-I've started taking the prophet's advice lol and taking vitamins daily.
-Some guy on the road saw us and wanted our wisdom and inspiration of if he should get married the next day with his Girl. said he wanted our revelation... I just opened the scriptures, to Alma 34:32, which tells us the purpose and meaning of life. and for him to progress the next steps were in the temple (He was already a member)
-an old guy dropped sum bars on the guitar with a song he wrote
-i have the same birthday as our recent convert Matues
-Lunches with members got kinda wrecked, or ... "Changed" now we simply wont have them lol, unless we have an investigator with us, and we can't plan them so it is basically just if a member invites us and has an investigator. But now starting next month pretty much all lunches we will be doing yourself so imma be cookin a bunch... imma need to learn a bit more variety with that skill.
- Devotional with President was funny, he just went on burning anyone who said anything about anything. even good questions about the lunch situation. he just doesn't want anyone to complain or somethin lol
- Elder Pincay surprised me with a question "how does it feel to finally be fluent in Português?" caught me off guard but he continued to tell me that I am Fluent! lets gooooo i was super hyped to hear that!!!
- A member here as i was getting to know everyone asked where i was from and didn't believe me when i said Utah hahah, cuz she said i sound like a brasilian and have zero accent. felt super good to hear that praise and see the astonishment on her face haha. God has blessed me with 4 companions from the Northeast of Brasil and in doing so blessed me with the Gift of tongues which was awesome!
- Facebook disappeared unexpectedly for the whole mission haha. It was pretty funny actually. President had no idea what had happened or why.
- Carton of eggs exploded
- I had some "Bolo de Rolo" and mannn! that stuff is freaking goood!!!!
- passed the sacrament, and shared a quick testimony and message in sacrament meeting as requested by the bishop.
- I saw a bunch of my friends from Ala 2!!!! It was awesome and I was super happy to see them!!! I even ran into some people that I had met in that area to teach and they recognized and remembered me!
- lit mini churrasco at the restaurant of a inactive-member.

We grinded our butts off workin like crazy and saw little to no success. but this is the part where we just need to persevere, and endure in faith. Even the people who don't progress, every person we touch we have a slight difference in that person's life, that little seed is planted. one day it could grow strong. we will just keep persevering. We will receive our witness after the trial of our faith. as it teaches in Ether 12:6. we just need to continue in Faith.
it will all go alright in the end. It is God's work after all. God's work cannot be frustrated or stopped. Only us as humans and imperfect can have our plans frustrated, slowed or stopped. but i don't plan and will not stop. might be a bit slower, but i will continue on.

Until next week.... Tchau!

This is God's Work, and this is a marvelous and joyful work!

God is Good! God Is Great!
